We
have created special badges that will be available from May
22nd at the CERN reception, Building
33, (close to the main entrance B). Please
note that badges are mandatory to enter CERN and the Final
Review itself (held in Council
Chamber). |
Here are some directions
on how to get to CERN. You are most likely to get here by car, train
or aeroplane. The best way to proceed from there
is detailed below.
An interactive map of
Geneva can help you find your way.
Travelling
by aeroplane
Coming from the Geneva International Airport at Cointrin:
Taxi - (rather expensive, approximately 25CHF). Recommended
for heavy luggage!
Bus -
take the bus number
10 from outside the airport exit to Bouchet (alternatively
the bus number 28 and exit to Blandonnet). From Bouchet (or Blandonnet)
take the bus number
9 marked "9 CERN" to its terminus at
the CERN entrance (be careful not to confuse it with the bus
number "9-Zimeysa"). The ticket costs
3 CHF or 2 euros ("Tout Genève" button on the
ticket machine). See Transports
Publics Genevois web site for full details.
Travelling by Train
From the Geneva
railway station at Cornavin:
Bus - Take the number
9 bus marked "9 CERN" to its terminus at the CERN
entrance (be careful not to confuse it with the bus number "9-Zimeysa").
The ticket costs
3 CHF or 2 euros ("Tout Genève" button on the
ticket machine). See Transports
Publics Genevois web site for full details.
Travelling by Car
Coming from the Swiss side:
Follow "Aeroport", "Lyon" or "Meyrin". When in
Meyrin head for "St. Genis" (which is just across the border in France.)
CERN is on the left hand side of the "route de Meyrin",
just before the border crossing.
Coming from the French side:
Follow "Gex" or "St.
Genis". When in St. Genis head for
the
border. CERN is on your right hand side immediately after the border crossing.
Here you will find a detailed
map of the buildings in the various CERN Sites.
